Four Latin events with Sabor will take place this first month of the year in Vienna

Every year Vienna (Capital of Austria) becomes the center of the Salsero movement of the country and Central Europe. International festivals of the genre, dance academies, and Latin music clubs are found day by day with greater frequency. For this reason, today, I will inform you of four Latin events that will take place this month in the Austrian territory so that you can start with Sabor in January 2022.

Cuban Salsa Weekend

The Cuban Salsa party starts on January 29th at Billie’s Studio

Billie’s Studio brings one of Vienna’s most fancy Cuban Salsa festivals in its tenth edition. These are two days of large workshops adapted to the level of each dancer or Salsa lover. Its classes vary in style, going from partner work to the rhythm of Timba to New York On2, Son, and Rumba style.

The Afro-Cuban movements will also be developed in the multiple levels of these workshops as well as the dance in Rueda and the like, expanding in this way to the maximum the skills and techniques of the Salseros movements always hand in hand with the musical key.

Even if you are a beginner or a professional dancer, the environment will always be enthusiastic due to the master classes of each of the trained instructors led by the Cuban dancer Osmani Segura.

This dance professional was born in Havana (Cuba). From an early age, he got into dance and was a member of several dance companies on the Caribbean island, which allowed him to perfect each of the Afro-Cuban rhythms such as Rumba, Mambo, Casino, and others.

He began teaching dance lessons in 2002 in his native country and later did it in Germany in 2006. Since 2010 he has shared his knowledge at Salsa Congress and festivals in Europe and the rest of the world.

Vienna Cuban Salsa Weekend will be exclusive and incredible from January 29th to January 30th, and its epicenter will be at Capistrangasse 10, 1060. The program will be comprised of Saturday, the day in which you will learn the body movements to the rhythm of the fusion of Timba and Salsa Casino, while Sunday will be full of Son and Timba. Prices range from 79 euros (Day Pass) and 129 euros (Full Pass).

  • Salzburg is one of the most beautiful and charming cities in Central Europe. Its Historic Center was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1996, which attracted a greater number of international tourists a year.
  • One of the most visited places in this Austrian city is the Mirabell Palace. This magnificent seat was built in 1606 by Prince-Archbishop Wolf Dietrich. Its wonderful view of the cathedral and the imperious castle together with the perfectly manicured rose gardens makes it an extremely photogenic place. Access to the Mirabell Palace is free but a large part of its spaces are closed to the general public.
  • In Salzburg, you will also come across the “Mozart Birthplace” museum located on one of the main avenues. Here you will find the piano with which Mozart made his compositions, scores, and other personal belongings. The cost of entry does not exceed 10 euros.
  • And the place that most attracts visitors to Austria daily is the Hohensalzburg Fortress. It is located on a small hill in the heart of Salzburg. It was built in 1077 and has only received modifications dating back to 1500. The curious thing about this castle is that it never was taken by its enemies, and today it is one of the most preserved fortresses in Europe.

Throughout the United States, there is a number of Latin music events have been taking place and their main purpose is to inspire artists and dancers from all over the world to visit those cities and show everyone present how talented they are. Burlingame Village, California has certainly not been left out.

For the third consecutive year, the organizers of the San Francisco Salsa Bachata and Kizomba Congress have invested all their energy in providing one of the greatest Latin festivals that attendees have ever seen. Having had two extremely successful and widely attended previous editions, Those responsible for organizing the congress come back with a lot of very talented guests who are more than eager to share their dancing skills with those who wish to learn.

We are talking about a large group of instructors from several countries who are ready to give spectacular workshops and shows on the most popular Latin genres of the moment such as salsa, bachata, and kizomba. All this is accompanied by great parties and social gatherings where students will be able to put into practice what they learn during the three days of this great experience.

These workshops will be accompanied by fabulous shows where some of the best DJs will liven up the atmosphere, making use of a repertoire as diverse as it is lively. Of course, all the music used will be entirely based on the genres that will be taught during the dance classes.

What about the pandemic and costs

Although the previous editions were a resounding success and the organizers do what they can to make attendees wonder, it is also true that they are facing the COVID-19 pandemic, which has caused all of us to rethink our lives and projects rill things get better. As a result, the congress team has had to make a large package of changes in order to ensure that everyone who wants to attend the event feels safe and secure at all times. After ensuring that everything will be under control during the three days of the festival, they started the sale of tickets and reservations for rooms at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco.

According to the websites that offer information on the San Francisco SBK Congress, the cost of tickets may vary from $30 to $210 depending on what each pass includes. It was also reported that there will not be any refund, so ticket sale is final. It is expected that the sale is carried out throughout the month until Friday, October 31, when purchases will no longer be accepted.

The dates scheduled for the congress will be 19, 20 and 21 November of the current year and the lucky ones to attend will have the opportunity to live with people from many other parts of the world, which makes this event a unique and unrepeatable experience.
