PC Records wants to start the year with everything

PC Records is a label that showed talent and potential during a year that was hard for everyone, where the world began to face a pandemic that has devastated many people. But precisely in this environment of confinement and taking care of ourselves, music has flourished, becoming company for many and even a way to release stress and seek happiness.

PC Records 2021 — PC Records is an independent label.

During this year PC Records showed us a variety of styles from reggaeton, through bachata and merengue to salsa and jazz. The independent label wants to continue its good streak in 2021, publicizing more artists and musical proposals for the enjoyment of the Latin and American public, as expressed by Hamilton Caucayo, president of PC Records with 35 years of experience. Luis Damon and his “Rompecabezas”

Luis Damon, a New Yorker with Puerto Rican blood in his veins, grew up in the Bronx and was surrounded by music from a very young age. His first production in Spanish came out in 1996 and from there it was only hits after hits. Nominated for Los Premios Lo Nuestro, Luis has managed to maintain a solid career. On this occasion he presents us “Rompecabezas” an urban Latin pop single written by Obie Bermudez, another Puerto Rican with the collaboration of Luis himself, the production was in charge of Julius Cesar.

OWY’s “La Iniciativa”

Oswaldo Paternostro is better known as OWY and is one of PC Records’ new proposals for this year. OWY is a singer, songwriter and producer from Colombia, who has dedicated himself to the urban genre, reaching a great reception among young audiences. He was born and raised in Barranquilla under the protection of his grandparents, who have always supported him. Now he presents “La Iniciativa” with which he wants to continue conquering the Latin markets.

Homero Gallardo presents “GOD Love UFO”

The talented Jazz artist Homero Gallardo was PC Records’ bet to close 2020 and start 2021 strong. Homero was born and raised in Guayaquil, Ecuador and from a very young age he felt a passion for music, managing to perform with great artists from the southern region. He later moved to Miami to continue his music studies focusing on Jazz, but making himself known in the city’s music scene, which led him to be close to artists such as Thalía and Luis Fonsi.

Ayash wants to be “Como Tú”

Ayash is another of PC Records’ new proposals, with her they want to bet on female talent, with a young woman who defines herself as powerful, with attitude and security, but who at the end of the day is still an incurable romantic and loves being in love. With her new single “Como Tú” the artist with Spanish origins but raised in Orange County, California shows Mediterranean fusion rhythms and a very personal story. Ayash is currently living in Miami where she bets on the warmth of the Spanish-speaking public.

These proposals are just the beginning of what we hope will be a great year for PC Records, with its talented artists and their hard work who continue to make their Latin origins proud.

Meet the Venezuelan Orchestra Oeste 11

Did you know that tropical music arises from the region surrounding the Caribbean Sea and the Antillean region of the American continent (Antigua and Barbuda Bahamas Barbados Cuba Dominica Grenada Haiti Jamaica Dominican Republic Saint Kitts and Nevis Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Saint Lucia Trinidad and Tobago) where, there is a mixture of rhythms from the African continent, fused with the folklore and rhythms of the different American countries such as merengue, bachata, salsa, reggaeton, samba, rumba, ranchera, bolero, bossa nova, cumbia, tango, tambourine, fado, milonga, latin rock.

In this edition we can say that many of music and dance lovers tend to choose Salsa and / or Tropical Music, since they are musical genres that people enjoy as a couple or in a group, whether at an event, party or festival, giving it essence, life and sharing among all the members, for that reason there are many singers and members of orchestras who specialize in these genres, today we have as a special guest the Orchestra Oeste 11 of Caracas, Venezuela.

It was made up of young musicians belonging to the Venezuelan Orchestral Movement, among them the Venezuelan percussionist Alejandro Alfonzo, who baptized it in 2007 with the name of ” Orchestra Oeste 11 ” for all the musical experiences they shared since childhood, because most of their members were formed together in said parish.

It is currently composed of 13 musicians, who specialize in the musical genre “Salsa”, giving life to 2 discographies, the first entitled “AL NATURAL” that came out in 2015, consists of 8 unreleased songs and a cover.

And for month of May 2019 their second discography “Amor y gusto” will be available, which will be composed of 11 unreleased songs, and to give a preview of the new album they already presented us this March 31 their first single (theme), entitled ” I want you to feel Mine ”, which is accompanied by a music video that you can enjoy on its YouTube page https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EpleKvxCg9Y.

And over the years they had the opportunity to share on the stage with various well-known artists and / or groups, such as the Latin Dimension, Rafael el Pollo Brito, Proyecto A, Los Saélites, Magia Caribeña, Grupo Mango, and other national artists. of different musical genres.

“Golpe Duro” is the new from Little Johnny Rivero

Percussionist Johnny Rivero presented his new album: Golpe Duro

The renowned percussionist released his new album called “Golpe Duro” with his band “El Cartel de Nueva York” which is released under the Mod Squad, LLC label. This would be Mr. Rivero’s third studio production. On this occasion he is also accompanied by vocalist Anthony Almontes, who together with the music created by Johnny have 9 wonderful songs.

“We had a lot of fun making this album @vamoalmonte … Golpe Duro Available Now !!” The percussionist said with a picture posted on his Instagram account where he is with Anthony, showing how much they enjoyed making this album.

The first song of this album, which was released in digital format on October 9 and as a preview of the complete album, is “Quien te ha dicho” which has the participation of the violinists Raúl Roa and Laura Pérez, but also shows a congas solo by Rivero himself; the same song is a loving message that carries an incredible cadence that ends in the congas solo.

The song that gives the album its name “Golpe Duro” is a representation of Rivero’s career, history and achievements which is demonstrated with congas solo where we repeatedly hear his name. Another of the outstanding songs on this album is “Chinita Monda”, composed by Anthony Almonte and with time of Son Montuno, it also features the participation of Nelson González on tres and Jeremy Bosch on flute.

The official video for “Quien te ha dicho” was released on November 20, where musicians from various countries were brought together through technology, to perform the title song of this album. Little Johnny himself wrote on his Instagram account:

A bit of Little Johnny Rivero’s career

An international artist

Johnny Rivero was born in New York but moved to Puerto Rico, where he found his passion for music, until he achieved a place in the band La Sonora Ponceña with which he recorded 18 studio albums, which were excellently received by the salsa family. He has worked together and shared the stage with many great artists, such as nine-time Latin Grammy winner Eddie Palmieri.

He has also formed salsa and jazz bands where he brings together musicians from various parts of the world. In addition to teaching percussion at Kennedy High School in the Bronx in New York, it was there that he met Anthony Almonte who accompanies him in this new studio album, what neither of them knew was that they would meet again for this piece thanks to a mutual friend Jeffery Lopez.

After that, “Golpe Duro” has only received great reviews and has been acclaimed by the best of the genre. We hope only better things will come to Little Johnny and Anthony in 2021.

“¿What have we achieved?” winner at the Global Music Awards

The Global Music Awards gave a silver medal to the Fahed Miter and Rubén Blades’s video “¿Qué hemos logrado?” The event took place on January 21 in the city of San Diego, California. The announcement was made as usual through the Global Music Awards’ website, an organization that in 2021 will have 10 years since they started with the awards.

The work behind the video

The video is different from the ones we all frequently watch and instead offers something more experimental. The video’s director was Luis Safa, who used around 800 drawings made with Chinese ink and animated all of them, a task that took months to complete. On the other hand, Safa’s direction it’s not the only remarkable achievement, since the person in charge of the video production was the Latin Grammy nominee and winner of a bronze medal this year at the Global Music Awards, Jorge Castro.

The video production and direction are phenomenal, as are the touching lyrics of the song, which was composed by Fahed Miter. These lyrics intrinsically invite everyone to reflect, while they transmit a clear message in all their verses. In this song, Fahed Miter’s voice sounds soft, with a slight tone that perfectly matches the melody that accompanies it, but as if was not enough, the recognizable voice of the incredibly talented Panamanian musician, Rubén Blades, adds an even more sentimental touch.

Focusing on the music, it also has various merits that are worth mentioning, one of them is the outstanding talent of the musicians that participated in the song, such as bassist John Patitucci and pianist Lito Vitale, both world-class musicians. The arrangements of the song were made by Edín Solís together with Vitale himself, by working together they managed to create the perfect melody for the song. In Fahed’s words, the video is “a perfect marriage between music and images, and it was made thanks to the creative freedom of an excellent team”.

In regards to the video, the author of “piel adentro, corazón afuera”, has expressed that his intentions were doing something different from what is usually seen every day, and by watching the video, we can say that the objective was fulfilled; the result of all the work done is a very original video, one where the tone of the music, the animation of the handmade drawings and the lyrics of the song, manage to create a piece of art worthy of at least a silver medal at the Global Music Awards.

Using his Instagram account, Jorge Castro talked about the video too, while also highlighting how complicated 2020 was: “It is almost a prophetic video since although it was carried out before the global Covid-19 emergency, it fits perfectly for the times that we are living in right now. We must celebrate all the good things we have, but we cannot help but show empathy for the global suffering that this pandemic continues to cause.” I’m sure we will move forward with all of this.”
