It is an immense pleasure to have you as a special guest in International Salsa Magazine through www.SalsaGoogle.com.

Thank you very much to you, my friend, Professor Carlos, for the invitation to your well read and recognized column and I take this opportunity to give a sincere greeting to all Venezuelans who are like my brothers.

How did you start in music? Well, teacher in my neighborhood called Ventanilla, in Peru, I grew up and since I was a child I breathed musical air, where at the age of 6 years old I was already playing “El Cajon”, traditional Peruvian Creole instrument, under the tutelage of my older brother Kike Rebatta, who took me later to learn other percussion instruments and prepare me with music theory, and then enter the music school of the renowned teacher Edelmi Chavez, and thus enter to form ranks in the most recognized orchestras in my country, such as: La Iniciativa, Orquesta la Grande, Banana Latin Jazz, among others. Wálter, which international orchestras and artists have you accompanied? I have accompanied and worked with “Los Hermanos Colón” from Puerto Rico and among many groups, I have had the honor of being on stage with my Venezuelan brothers, Hildemaro “El Sonero del Amor”, with whom I have a great friendship, as well as with the master timbalero Alfredo Villamizar, from whom I have learned a lot and from whom I must thank through his column Salsa Escrita.

“Chato”, you are currently based in the French city of Grenoble and we would like to know how is the salsa movement, especially in Europe. In fact, professor, in 1995, I came to Europe with the “Orquesta Salsa Perú” and I met Mr. Rodolfo Guerra, with whom a great friendship was born and I became part of the “Orquesta Sincopa Latina”, directed by him, being present in his productions: Salsa que te pasa, Demasiado corazón, Mi bachata, Puerto Rico, Todo, Escándalo, Mi silencio, Mi toque, Habla conmigo and Azafata.

Wálter, I have heard that you have accompanied great salsa artists in their presentations, tell me who? I have had the honor of accompanying the late Tito Gómez, Willie González, Luisito Carrión and the great Venezuelan sonero Orlando José Castillo “Watussi”. Also, let me tell you professor, that I have worked in the Italian television Media Set, in the very popular program “Notte Vola”, also in 2002, I participated in the Tour of the Queen of Salsa, Celia Cruz, along with the orchestra of the prestigious world famous violinist Alfredo de La Fe.

Likewise, my friend Carlos, in 2004, I performed in numerous events with Latin jazz groups, among them “El Royal Cuba”, of the Cuban musician and singer Eduardo Céspedes.

In 2007, I participated in the prestigious and famous San Remo festival with the singer Daniele Silvestri, with whom I have recorded in his productions.

In 2009, I participated in the Italian tour “Terromotati Dil Abruzzo”, conducted by the famous singer Laura Pausini and later that same year I participated again in a tour in the United States for charity with Pausini again.

Excellent Wálter, and what can you tell us about the orchestra you are currently working with and what are your future projects? Professor Carlos, at present I am an official musician of the renowned orchestra “Mercadonegro” and in relation to my projects, is to form my own group and perhaps venture into the bachata, but without leaving aside the salsa, since living in Europe I have met many bachateros.

And something very important, my friend Colmenárez, I am also working on the project of my Venezuelan compadre, the musician Edwin Sanz, whom I would like you to interview at some point.

Very good Wálter, congratulations for your trajectory, what are your contacts in the digital platforms? My Facebook is: Wálter Antonio Rebatta Hinostroza and my whatsapp: +41 77 5122633.

The role of the Spaha Salsa Gallery in Latin music

The role played by the Spaha Salsa Gallery in the dissemination of Latin culture is very important, since these institutions are the ones that manage to arouse the interest of the inhabitants of Harlem and other nearby sectors towards one of the most representative musical genres of Latinity. This has made many other cultural institutions to use this gallery in order to awaken a higher interest in its own activities, which shows extensive cooperation between those who seek to promote anything Latin-related at all costs.

Fortunately, our work is not that complicated to carry out because too many tourists visit New York every day and many of them know that this city was the birthplace of the biggest salsa movement in history, so they are always looking for cultural sports in which you can find information about this set of rhythms and how it emerges in the public arena.

Who Johnny Cruz is

Johnny Cruz is the founder of the Spaha Salsa Gallery, but there are many other facets by which this talented Puerto Rican is known in the entertainment industry. Cruz is a famous musician and record producer who has worked and make friends with a wide number of artists from all genres, by providing him with the platform to create a true sanctuary for Latin music lovers.

One interesting fact about the museum is that it is located on the plot where a hardware business owned by Johnny’s father used to function, which was made into something completely different thanks to the genius of his son long after. Today, that place contains several of the most invaluable objects in the history of salsa and whose relationship with some of the greatest figures of the genre is legendary.

La Finca Bar & Grill is a bar-restaurant that can boast a set of dishes to delight the palate. Of the many rich preparations that the place has to offer, we can mention fish fillets with mashed yucca, mofondo (Purto Rican dish with fried plantains, salt, garlic, and olive oil), salmon, spicy chivito with white rice, fettuccine with goat, sausage in wine, pan-fried calamari, chicken wings, among others. Other than the food, the staff also offers out-of-this-world drinks with which diners can accompany their dishes, including mojitos, brunches, lemonades, cocktails and much more.

One of the great characteristics of La Finca is that its team always does its best to find the best talent and offer visitors a pleasant and special time. The main attraction is the hiring of a DJ who is in charge of playing the latest hits of the season and, of course, one or another hit from the past. They have also looked for renowned artists whose performances have enchanted the audience thanks to their talent and dedication to the public. Such is the case of Alex Bueno, who performed at the venue in the month of June and a part of his show can be seen on several YouTube channels.

What people say about La Finca Bar & Grill on the internet

According to the vast majority of the reviews found on Google, what is praised for being the best is the amazing food, the incredible drinks, the costs and the DJs hired to liven up the place. Not to mention the warm treatment on the part of the staff and the space and comfort of the facilities, which adds another reason for visiting the restaurant frequently. Almost everyone who comments on the bar gives it a five-star review, which is uncommon in the vast majority of places like this one.

Local guides who commented on the restaurant in these reviews highlight the cleanliness and the wide spaces of the place, which is extremely important and taken into account during these times of health crisis. Undoubtedly, given the current situation, areas dedicated to entertainment such as this one have had to adapt their facilities as best as possible to make its clientele feel safe and confident. No doubt about it, La Finca Bar & Grill has done it, and for that, it deserves all the support and visits it receives.

Regarding open times, the bar-restaurant is open daily, but the schedule varies according to the day. From Monday to Friday, the venue is open from 3 p.m. to 12 a.m. On Saturdays and Sundays, it is open from 2 p.m. to 12 a.m.
