Latin America / Colombia / Medellin

The Colombia Salsa Festival is the largest salsa festival in South America. Its 8th edition will take place this year at Plaza Mayor in Medellín (Antioquia), Colombia, from July 1st to July 4th.
Medellín is Colombia’s second most important city, where the local people are known for their friendliness and deep connection to tradition. The city is highly attractive—not only for its commercial and industrial activity but also for its vibrant cultural and nightlife scene. It enjoys a pleasant climate, with temperatures hovering around 24°C (75°F). A key local tradition is the famous “Flower Festival” (*Feria de las Flores*). The city is also a hub for fashion and music. This national festival will feature prominent international figures from the world of salsa, including Carine and Rafael Barrios, Deklan Guzmán and Natalia Villanueva, and Albert Torres and Minette Jackson.

This major festival will include a championship for top-tier dancers, dance workshops for both amateurs and professionals led by leading national and international instructors, dance performances, and after-parties featuring DJs.

The festival aims to promote and energize the salsa scene in Colombia, highlighting the work of the salsa community on a global stage. It seeks to empower various artistic participants, provide a showcase for artists to gain exposure, stimulate the salsa market, and serve as a vital cultural space for an audience eager to dance to and enjoy this infectious, upbeat rhythm—all within the welcoming social atmosphere of this bustling city.
