Orquesta 704 was created in 2018 by Javier Mendoza (singer) and Julio Hernández Dipini (Trombone and Director) when Javier and Julio were looking for the name for the Orchestra, many names came up, but none caused an impact, while Javier was driving on the road Interstate I-77 saw a sign on the highway and said to himself, this may work, so a very striking logo was used and put 704, because these numbers are the area code of the area where Javier and Julio live.

Eduardo Zayas “Born Among Titans”

Eduardo Zayas fell in love with salsa during his sister’s Quinceañero and for the first time listened to the albums of the Fania Stars

Eduardo Zayas was born in the 1960s, a time of turmoil and conflict in our Nation.

Born in Ponce Puerto Rico and raised in the town of poets, Juana Díaz. He fell in love with salsa during his sister’s Quinceañero, when he first heard the Fania Stars records. From that moment he grew in a fascination for that hot music.

He completed his basic education in his longed-for town of Juana Díaz where he graduated from Luis Llorens Torres High School. “I study psychology at the Inter-American University in Ponce Puerto Rico”

The 70s were his greatest influence while growing up on the same street where the family of the great Tito Gómez lived, as well as other great musicians such as Héctor Tricoche.

During that period, rumbones were found on every corner.

Since childhood he was inclined to write poetry and shared his creations with family, friends and teachers.

At an early age he had the opportunity to write a poem and recite it on local radio.

While studying at the University; His interest in traveling and learning about new things motivated him to enlist in the American military service where he served for 26 years in different military branches until his retirement in 2007.

In those years he had the opportunity to visit many places and observe many experiences and events that fed his muse.

He was fortunate that his last military station was the beautiful island of Hawaii where he worked as a counselor for the military organization in cases involving discrimination issues and organizing educational and cultural events.

During that period he had the opportunity to demonstrate his poetic abilities by writing poems and works for his events.

Upon retirement in 2007, he was fortunate to be selected to work as a civilian employee with the United States Government Federal Service in Washington DC.

Eduardo began writing songs since his early years in the military.

His love for music is so great that he has continued to write songs and had the opportunity in 2019 to produce his own musical production “Nacido Entre Titanes” with a great cast of musicians and singers.

All the songs in his productions are his own, until now some of his songs have been recorded by other artists such as Julita Stephens, Iván Montero and Awilda Hernández.

Others are soon to leave, their music is based on personal experiences and observations of events throughout their lives, their themes carry messages for reflection.

He feels the great purpose of his work is to be able to create good music and bring joy and positive messages to dancers and those who like to listen to great quality.

After being away from the musical scene for about twelve years, Pa’ la Calle Orchestra, who reaped their successes between 1996 and 2001, now returned again with their unique and contagious style.

Created by Ángel Díaz and Carmelo Rivera, who reaped their successes under the independent label (PALA Records). Successes like “I’m in love”, “Love”, “It costs me so much” among others.

La Candela Salsa Orchestra – La Resistencia

La Candela is a small independent orchestra that in recent years has made a place for itself among the preferences of salsa dancers.

Her proposal is aimed at “hooking” the dancer with the original rhythms of salsa such as son montuno, guaguancó, mambo or chachachá, recovering the sound of the era in which what is known today as Salsa was forged.

The band is made up of eight musicians based in Tenerife (Canary Islands).

Its target audience is the salsa dancer on1 & on2, a great consumer of this type of music.

However, they have also conquered the hearts of the salsa music lovers who are staunch consumers of hard sauce.

The live La Candela show is a roller coaster of sensations that aims to spread joy and good vibes with a varied repertoire in terms of the danceable rhythms that are included within the salsa genre.

With him they have been presented in Spain and in other European countries such as Germany or Switzerland throughout these five years of activity.

La Candela’s style is inspired by the repertoire and execution style of the master Joe Cuba and his Sextet.

They have brought back to life some of their best classic songs that are still a reference for the dancer today.

With this spirit, her first musical project was born: On Fire, which was released in November 2015 and was a very good business card.

The album includes some classic songs by maestro Joe Cuba, such as “La Palomilla”, “Clave Mambo” or “El Ritmo de Joe Cuba”, along with self-written songs such as our first two singles, entitled “Es Guaguancó” and “For her”.

In 2017 and thanks to the executive production of Batlei Productions, a new project by La Candela was born with a closer sound and with many new features, without leaving behind our essence, headed by the first single titled “Se Prentó”, On Time moves between the primitive and the new, rescuing jewels and offering deserved tributes to some of the great pioneers of Afro-Cuban danceable music, like Tito Rodríguez or Frank Grillo “Machito”.

They are currently preparing what will be their third studio album with a new line-up of Musicians

We are also in the process of reserving the album “On Time” with a crowdfounding project, in which 300 LPs of this production have been put on sale in a limited edition: https://qrates.com/projects/20837- on-time In addition, we have launched a merchandising store where you can find all kinds of products with the unmistakable seal of La Candela Salsa Orchestra: https://lacandelasalsa.threadless.com/
