Orchestra

Orquesta 704 It is a musical group, made up of the best musicians in the Charlotte NC area

Orquesta 704 was created in 2018 by Javier Mendoza (singer) and Julio Hernández Dipini (Trombone and Director) when Javier and Julio were looking for the name for the Orchestra, many names came up, but none caused an impact, while Javier was driving on the road Interstate I-77 saw a sign on the highway and said to himself, this may work, so a very striking logo was used and put 704, because these numbers are the area code of the area where Javier and Julio live.

After 12 years, “Pa’ la Calle Orchestra” returns to the world of music

After being away from the musical scene for about twelve years, Pa’ la Calle Orchestra, who reaped their successes between 1996 and 2001, now returned again with their unique and contagious style.

Created by Ángel Díaz and Carmelo Rivera, who reaped their successes under the independent label (PALA Records). Successes like “I’m in love”, “Love”, “It costs me so much” among others.

Pa’ la Calle Orchestra exceeded their sales expectations and with their second production under the V.I.

Music was titled “Now I’m Going” with songs like: “I’m crying”, “You’re like this”, “That girl”, and “Where will my love be”. The latter being the one that marked the success of the musical career of this group.

The year 2012 without a doubt marked a new stage in the musical life of the orchestra, and with the return dedicated to our late drummer José “Neri” Rodríguez.

In this 4th production they will present a song with the salsa rhythm and we will have a Christmas song called “Esta Navidad”; It is important to note that it is being produced by Nelson L. Cordero at his Muralla Studio.

La Candela Salsa Orchestra

La Candela Salsa Orchestra, the band is made up of eight musicians settled in Tenerife Canary Islands

La Candela Salsa Orchestra - La Resistencia
La Candela Salsa Orchestra – La Resistencia

La Candela is a small independent orchestra that in recent years has made a place for itself among the preferences of salsa dancers.

Her proposal is aimed at “hooking” the dancer with the original rhythms of salsa such as son montuno, guaguancó, mambo or chachachá, recovering the sound of the era in which what is known today as Salsa was forged.

The band is made up of eight musicians based in Tenerife (Canary Islands).

Its target audience is the salsa dancer on1 & on2, a great consumer of this type of music.

However, they have also conquered the hearts of the salsa music lovers who are staunch consumers of hard sauce.

La Candela Salsa Orchestra

The live La Candela show is a roller coaster of sensations that aims to spread joy and good vibes with a varied repertoire in terms of the danceable rhythms that are included within the salsa genre.

With him they have been presented in Spain and in other European countries such as Germany or Switzerland throughout these five years of activity.

La Candela’s style is inspired by the repertoire and execution style of the master Joe Cuba and his Sextet.

They have brought back to life some of their best classic songs that are still a reference for the dancer today.

With this spirit, her first musical project was born: On Fire, which was released in November 2015 and was a very good business card.

The album includes some classic songs by maestro Joe Cuba, such as “La Palomilla”, “Clave Mambo” or “El Ritmo de Joe Cuba”, along with self-written songs such as our first two singles, entitled “Es Guaguancó” and “For her”.

In 2017 and thanks to the executive production of Batlei Productions, a new project by La Candela was born with a closer sound and with many new features, without leaving behind our essence, headed by the first single titled “Se Prentó”, On Time moves between the primitive and the new, rescuing jewels and offering deserved tributes to some of the great pioneers of Afro-Cuban danceable music, like Tito Rodríguez or Frank Grillo “Machito”.

They are currently preparing what will be their third studio album with a new line-up of Musicians

We are also in the process of reserving the album “On Time” with a crowdfounding project, in which 300 LPs of this production have been put on sale in a limited edition: https://qrates.com/projects/20837- on-time In addition, we have launched a merchandising store where you can find all kinds of products with the unmistakable seal of La Candela Salsa Orchestra: https://lacandelasalsa.threadless.com/

Johnny Pacheco, presents “Orquesta Primera Clase” from Maracay-Venezuela

The title of this album speaks for itself; the hand of the transcendental Dominican musician is introduced in this album.

El Zorro de Plata Pacheco appears as executive producer of the album, although we do not discard that he also participated in part of the musical production, due to the way the orchestra was structured and the style in which the arrangements were given; it is something that we can hardly notice when listening to the album, it is evident the great similarity to “Pacheco y su Tumbao”; four excellent trumpets with sonorous arrangements.

The predominance of Teo Hernandez (R.I.P)’s vocal style and register in the nasal coros, fits perfectly with the “Tumbao Añejo” that we have always been accustomed to from maestro Johnny Pacheco (R.I.P).

Although the album was backed by the Fania label and is loaded with a cheerful and swinging flavor, we think that it went somewhat unnoticed by the music-loving public.

The reasons could be several, we must remember that in those times in the 80’s the merengue rhythm was beginning to penetrate with a lot of strength.

Although we could also add the little interest that the public of the capital (Caracas) had for the groups of the regions or interior of the country, and although it seems ironic to say it.
Another possible reason could be linked to the inclusion of only unpublished songs (it is well known that in those times, they supported copies more than creativity); these are only conjectures of this server, however, they do not escape the reality of that time.

Teo Hernández (R.I.P)

As for the musical themes, we have already pointed out that all of them are original and very well compensated with their arrangement; In particular there are two songs that I like very much, one of them is “Negro Nací”, written and sung by Orlando Sanoja, is a very happy song dedicated to our black race of the danceable in his music, “Si negro nací nací nací, blanco no puedo ser”, The other song of my predilection is “El Sabio”, composition and lyrics by Jorge Compres and vocalized by Teo Hernández, with great diction, good phrasing and those tasty choruses that accompany him.

It is worth mentioning that the excellent La Orquesta Primera Clase is still in force with a musical staff of the new generation maintaining its original sound with its lead vocalist Orlando Sanoja.

It is another good Venezuelan album that you should have in your personal CD library.
