Nu Salsa The dynamic duo of dance in Belfast

Nu Salsa is a new concept of dance classes. They are taught by David Hynes and Suzanne Coates, which are the best duo of salsa in Ireland. Both have been dancing salsa for a long time and are well established as the top teaching couple in the Belfast salsa scene. They will be teaching at the Scottish Salsa Congress in Edinburgh and Irish Salsa School in Maynooth plus a lot of other events.

Nu Salsa are always known to do things their own way, even if that means doing things differently from everyone else, but the proof of this approach shows in the good dancers that come through our classes. They have been taught by some of the best teachers in the world and it is our mission to pass on that teaching to our own students in Belfast and around Ireland.

Every two Fridays they teach salsa in different locations (night clubs, academies, congresses).

David and Suzanne have taught previously at Irish Salsa School, the Cork Salsa Bonanza and Donegal Dance Asylum, along with many guest teaching slots throughout the country. Our aim is to pass on our knowledge of salsa to our students in Belfast and help them fall in love with salsa as much as we enjoy it. Suzanne Coates

Suzanne is widely regarded as the top female salsa dancer and teacher in Belfast. She has been teaching with Nu Salsa for several years and also runs ladies styling and technique classes under the Salsa Style brand in Belfast.

David Hynes

David has been dancing for many years and has been teaching as Nu Salsa since 2004. During this time, he has learned from a lot of the top teachers in the UK and recently has spent a long time in London studying under Gil and Shelley of Pexava Dance.

Friday Night Salsa Classes Belfast

They’re running classes every second Friday until the end of the year. See below for the current schedule. They will have 2 levels of class each night, one for Improver dancers and one for Intermediate/Advanced.

Classes will run from 7-8.30pm and then 30 mins of social dancing so you can practice what you have learned and we can give some individual help if you have any questions.

Alkemia Salsa, Bachata & Kizomba

The Alkemia academy welcomes to the new participants to the new season which begins with new projects to teach Latin rhythms to everyone. The academy is known as one of the greatest dance academies in Luxembourg, sharing the culture and teaching people how to dance in all different styles, specially Salsa, Bachata and Kizomba.

GILLES CAVIGLIA

Creator of Alkemia academy in 2012. Rugby player, he discovered Latin rhythms in 2005. After went to many different salsa schools like Salsa Fever, Salsa Wave Chazomba, and after many different festivals and international presentations, he discovered passion for dancing. Today, he has that same. passion for rhythms like Kizomba, Salsa & Bachata.

PAULINE LOPEZ VELTER

Discovers dance at the age of 4. Classic, modern jazz, contemporary. It’s at the age of 13 that she discovers couple, latin et standard dances (rock, chacha, valse, samba, tango, etc…). His strong passion for dancing made it her job today. In love of latin Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba, Chacha, she teaches now different styles and she produces too in spectacles in a diversity of discipline in couple or in group.

NADEGE KARRENBAUER

At the age of 8 years, she discovered the dance universe and the show performances joining an academy of Jazz (Dance Mania) for 18 years. Later, she discovered the sensuality of afro-Latin rhythms. She joined the Alkemia’s team, with Kizomba as main subject.

RAQUEL SIMOES

Active since 2007 in the world of the Salsa in Luxembourg in the teaching and choreography, Raquel has joined as an intermittent in the group Alkemia in 2014, and teaches the 3 dances Salsa, Bachata and Kizomba.

CARLA

Started intensively with salsa in 2005, together with other rhythms like bachata, rock and roll, americano, tango and so on. In 2007, with her dancing partner, they started the company “Rock and roll fever”. Teaching rock and roll, preparing choreographies, performing shows and animations, she was part of the Buenos Aires Savoy Dancers, a group of Lindy Hop in Argentina. Since 2012 in Luxembourg, she discovered Kizomba, and Alkemia!

In January 2017, Munich will be able to experience a high class weekend full of dance and music, again. Inspired by “Baila en Cuba”, the annual dance and music event in Havanna (Cuba), we brought this festival to life. And moreover we want to import a part of the wonderful atmosphere of its big Cuban counterpart to Munich.

With the 10th “El Festival Salsa Cubana” We will continue our legendary winter festival series. Salsa Cubana is more than a dance – it’s an attitude towards life! Who does not inevitably associate typical Cuban music, Cuban ambience and Son Cubano (the most traditional of all Cuban dances) with these words?

Festival Salsa Cubana stands for this very diversity. No matter if dancer, music lover or just fancier of the Caribbean atmosphere – you will get your money’s worth!

Location

The festival is located in the rooms of the CIRCULO. CIRCULO is the biggest dance school for Salsa Cubana in Munich. Additionally, as a salsateca, with legendary salsa parties and a lot of Salsa live concerts, CIRCULO is an integral part of Munich’s salsa scene.

CIRCULO’s address is Rosenheimerstrasse 139, in Munich. With its seven, highly equipped rooms, it is predestined for the realization of all classes and parties that are part of the Festival Salsa Cubana.

The studio in the back has two dance rooms with a bar area. Since the expansion in January 2007, we have 3 additional classrooms with an inviting bar area. And NEW since October 2014, with the latest extension we have another 2 additional rooms with a bar area, which connects the two studios.

Mobile walls separate the single rooms from each other, but can be removed to form one big room for party and dancing. Premises with a very classy interior, a flexible stage excellent quality of light and sound prevent parties and training in greatest atmosphere.

Do you fancy a festive and cozy New Year’s Eve in good company and with lots of kizomba?

All participants receive a practical task along the way (cleaning, help in the kitchen etc.) There will be a self-service bar, where you put something for common use (it can be liquor, wine, beer, soft drinks etc.). There will be a refrigerator, ice, soft drinks and juices (for mixing drinks) and it’s included in the price. During the evening/night please we need help ensuring that there will be cleaned up and filled up at the bar.

THEODORE AWADZI

Workshops in the afternoon with Theodore from Oslo – and it is included in the price for participation in the New Year event. Theo was living in UK until one year ago when he moved to Oslo, Norway. Since then the kizomba scene in Norway has reached “new heights” as he has become a very popular dance instructor, DJ and event organizer. Before kizomba, Theo has a long salsa and rueda history with several 1st Places at the British Open Professional Salsa Championship (2010 and 2012).

10 am: Brunch: Scramble eggs, bacon, brunch sausages, warm liver paste, smoked salmon, ham, cold cuts, cheeses and various bread and butter.
12 am: There is cleared up and we say thank you for this year (or last year).

Eduardo Paim has proved not only a performer but also a composer and music producer from multiple sources. It should be noted that the music producer, record producer also known, is the figure responsible for the completion of a recording that is considered finalized for release.

The song “Baila Rose” from the album “Kambwengo,” one of the paradigms of discography Eduardo Paim, which portrays the typical Angolan woman, was in the charts of Radio Television Portugal (RTP) for months.

“Luanda my band” (1990), “Mujimbos” (1998), and “Maruvo Cup” (2006), is a whole album, more than twenty year career. His latest CD, much more involved, was contributed by singers such as Fernando Girão, Nancy Vieira, Bonga, Vote Gonçalves, Don Caetano, Angelo Boss, Black, and Matias Damasio Bué. The CD “Luanda my band,” proved, likewise, a success unprecedented in the career of Eduardo Paim, an album that aligns the themes: “My Neighbor,” “Kutonoca,” “It’s So Good” “Luanda My Band”, “Sound of the Band,” “Nagibo” and “Kizombada.”

On this record, Eduardo Paim has worked with the Guinean guitarist and singer Justin Delgado Guilherme Silva, a Mozambican artist who has shared the stage with artists such as Julio Iglesias, Tina Turner, Juan Luis Guerra, Cesaria Evora, Tito Paris and Rui Veloso.

The economy of instrumental means, one of the merits of Eduardo Paim, in close collaboration with guitarist Simmons Mancini, revealed itself as one of the strategies of this album, as well as the use of synthesizers, whose functionality was ultimately the only recourse at that time.

For an artist with a long artistic career, Eduardo Paim argues that “when you have no followers, you do not reach the target, but when there are many, we can lose ourselves among those who follow us.”
